Lights On: Grand Opening

Lights On, curtains up – we’re going to be raising the roof with our big reopening event on Saturday 23 September.

Announced only last week, ticket sales are flying for the two performances, which are bringing together the best of the local performing arts.

The entertainment is being provided by many of the amateur groups who have graced the Adam Smith stage over the years – and who can’t wait to be back and finally again say: “On with the show!”

It’s also going to be the much-awaited milestone that heralds that the Adam Smith is well and truly back…and better than ever as the creative heart of Kirkcaldy.

When it reopened briefly recently for the Adam Smith Global Foundation Festival of Ideas, people had the first glimpse of what’s been happening behind the closed doors but come 23 September, the venue will be revealed in all its glory following the three-year project to turn what was a traditional civic theatre into a modern creative hub.

You’ll be welcomed by the striking new box office in the refurbished foyer, you can enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in the new-look café/bar and then sit back and enjoy the new seating and technical upgrades in the revamped auditorium.

But there’s more. A new Design Suite has been created for creative professionals to meet and work, there are new spaces for business and corporate events, and fully equipped spaces for community use.

It’s the start of a fantastic new chapter for the venue so grab a ticket for the big Lights On show if you can, check out what’s coming up this autumn and show your support for the Adam Smith!
